Moges G/Mariam
Title: – Director, Senior Counselor and Trainer
Mr. Moges G/Mariam is a counseling psychologist by profession who holds an MA degree in Counseling Psychology and a BA degree in Educational Psychology. He also has another master’s degree in Positive and Cross-Cultural Psychotherapy.
He has ample experience working for more than 20 years in various organizations, including the Ministry of Education, Christian Relief Development Association (CRDA), Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE), and John Hopkins University Center for Communication Programs (JHU/CCP) Ethiopia field office, where he held different capacities.
Mr. Moges has managed numerous large-scale and small-scale project evaluations, feasibility studies, behavioral interventions, manual development, and trainings. He is the founder and director of Aha Psychological Services.
Dr. Alebachew Alemnew
Title: – Manager and Researcher
Dr. Alebachew earned his PhD in Education from Tezpur Central University in India. He also holds an MA in Counseling Psychology and a Bachelor of Education in Pedagogical Science and Composite English, as well as a diploma in Adult Education. Additionally, he has completed several trainings on project management, result-oriented project planning, instructional skills, research methodology, girl power program studies, and more.
Dr. Alebachew has experience in action research, formative assessment, baseline surveys and large-scale project and program evaluations. He has worked in government, non-government, private organizations, and universities for about 20 years as a program manager, instructor, and trainer. He has managed numerous research projects, led program and project evaluations, and developed training manuals in the fields of education , life skills and psychology.
Dr. Alebachew is a co-founder and Manager of Aha Psychological Services and leads the research and consultancy unit of the company.
Nafkot W/Tsadik
Title: – Senior Counselor and Trainer
Mrs. Nafkot W/Tsadik is currently pursuing her PhD in Counseling Psychology at Addis Ababa University and is a licensed counseling psychologist with DACCA Ethiopia. She is also a certified Positive Psychotherapist from the World Association of Positive Psychotherapy in Germany. Nafkot holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, both from Addis Ababa University.
At present, she works at Aha Psychological Services as a counselor and trainer. Mrs. Nafkot is responsible for Aha’s staff care program and actively participates in facilitating trainings and coaching services for organizations and their employees.
Abel Woldemichael
Title: – Clinical Psychologist
Mr. Abel is a PhD candidate in Counseling Psychology at Addis Ababa University. He holds a BA in Psychology and an MA in Clinical Psychology, both of which were earned from the Addis Ababa University School of Psychology. Abel has spent more than ten years working in both public and private institutions. His experience includes lecturing medical students, conducting training sessions, conducting individual and group psychotherapy, and participating in research and manual development.
Mr. Abel has served as a clinical psychologist and lecturer at several institutions. These include the St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College, Abbichu Memorial Psychiatric Specialty and Rehab Center, Kolfe Psychiatry Specialty Clinic, The Federal First Instance Court, and Santé Medical College. Currently, he is working as a clinical psychologist at Aha. His professional interests lie in counseling, training, and researching in the field of rehabilitation.
Edengenet Feleke
Title: – Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist
Mrs. Edengenet Feleke is a PhD in Clinical Psychology candidate at Vision International University, holds a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Addis Ababa University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Bahirdar University, among others. She also has numerous certifications, including a certificate in Play and Art Therapy for Child & Adolescent, EMDR therapy, Ethiopian sign language and deaf culture, and Behavioral Therapy for Adolescents.
In addition to her extensive hands-on experience, Mrs. Eden is the current Academic Dean at the African Institution for International Studies College, where she instructs and supervises postgraduate and undergraduate Sociology and Counseling Psychology students. Her career in education also includes serving as a high school guidance and counselor at Victory Academy Private School, where she conducted individual and group counseling sessions for students. Mrs. Eden dedication to her profession extends to volunteer work in Psychotherapy and special education for organizations like Kebede Tsehay Orphanage and Kaleb Foundation, where she works to enhance the speech and language abilities of children and adults with disorders. Currently Mrs. Eden works as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist at Aha.
Bruck Tesfaye
Title: – Program Coordinator
Mr. Bruck Tesfaye, an experienced and dedicated Program Coordinator at Aha Psychological Services, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Social Anthropology from Addis Ababa University. Prior to joining Aha Psychological Services, Mr. Bruck gained valuable experience in various roles, such as volunteering as a social worker at the Children’s Legal Protection Center and serving as a counselor at the AIDS Resource Center and the Ministry of Health, where he provided support and guidance to individuals affected by HIV/AIDS.
Further refining his leadership and project management skills, Mr. Bruck worked as a helpline supervisor at the emergency operation center of the Ethiopian Public Health Institute. At Aha Psychological Services, Mr. Bruck brings his diverse background and expertise to the role of Program Coordinator, where he oversees the successful implementation of various initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Mahlet Mikru
Title: – Junior Finance and Admin
Ms. Mahlet Mikru is a dedicated professional with a diploma in Hotel Operations from Lion Ethiopia. She is currently furthering her education by pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. In her role at Aha, Ms. Mahlet supports the smooth functioning of the office by providing valuable assistance in various areas, including scheduling, communication, and office management.
Her diligent work and dedication to providing outstanding service have made her an invaluable member of the Aha Psychological Services team.
Aman Moges
Title: – Logistics Officer
Mr. Aman is currently broadening his knowledge by studying management. His commitment to professional development is further emphasized through his participation in job readiness training programs with AHA. At present, Mr. Aman holds the position of a Logistics Officer at Aha, focusing on increasing efficiency and streamlining processes.
Birhanu Alemu
Title: – Clinical Psychologist and Trainer
Birhanu is a PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology with over 17 years of progressive experience in counseling and clinical psychology domain, including Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and Organizational Intervention. Since 2019, he has worked as an EAP Counselor with The KonTerra Group, providing counseling support to staff of international organizations, including USAID, WHO, and IRC. His clients include international staff from diverse geographical locations.
Additionally, as a Senior Counselor and Trainer at Aha Psychological Services, he has been providing, among others, staff care support to employees of various international non-governmental organizations (INGOs). His responsibilities in this role include conducting psychosocial assessments, designing tailored interventions, delivering training on staff well-being and resilience, and providing individual and group psychotherapy. In his previous staff care roles, he served as a Consulting Psychologist at UCSD-E and a Counselor at JHU.CCP, where he supported health workers and counselors managing work-related stress and secondary trauma while working with HIV/AIDS patients.
Metasebiya Genanew
Title: – Counseling Psychologist
As the Psychological Services Officer at AHA Psychological Services, she is responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) initiatives. Her role primarily involves leading the counseling and staff care unit, including the development and facilitation of comprehensive training programs for staff, partner organizations, and community stakeholders. These trainings focus on key areas such as psychological first aid, trauma-informed care, stress management, and community-based mental health strategies.
She also serves as a coordinator, managing the planning, execution, and monitoring of various psychosocial support projects. This includes assisting in developing project proposals, liaising with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, and tracking progress to ensure timely and effective delivery.
Samrawit Getu
Title: – Client Service Officer
Samrawit Getu is a dedicated mental health professional holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychiatry from Dilla University. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Addis Ababa University. With over a year of experience at Aha Psychological Services, Samrawit serves as a Client Service Officer, actively supporting mental health service delivery and client coordination. In this role, she is the first point of contact for clients, screens cases, conducts initial assessments as part of their ongoing support with counselors, and is responsible for assigning and appointing clients. Samrawit provides counseling support primarily to adult college students under supervision. She demonstrates a strong commitment to mental health, client-centered care, and psychological well-being.
Mihret Sisay
Title: – Client Service Officer
Mihret Sisay holds a degree in psychiatry from Dilla University and a second degree in Business Management from Infolink University College. Currently, Mihret serves as a Client Service Officer at Aha Psychological Center. In this role, she acts as the first point of contact for clients, screens cases, and conducts initial assessments as part of their ongoing support with counselors. She possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills, ensuring clients feel supported and understood throughout their experience.
